A While Ago

it's been a while
since the last word written down
but no new faces
just that good old smell of coffee
like a long break without getting broken
like a vacation without having to travel
it wasn't half time
the game has no scoreboards
players still play their parts
just like thieves in the night
socks into shoes
and roads burning out the wheels
and i have to get back to this while
